Krista Cowan

Krista "KJ" Cowan is an actor, director and teaching artist who recently moved to the D.C. area from L.A., where she was acting and directing after having completed her MFA in Directing from the University of California in Irvine. Previously, she was enjoying pursuing her theatre career in the Boston area. Favorite acting credits include Penny in an adaptation of the novel Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller with Three Trees Theater, the Peacock and the Toucan
in a Pan Pacific Players adaptation of Aristophanes' The Birds using Commedia del'Arte and Korean Mask Dance techniques (a production which also toured in the Seoul International Theatre Festival in 2005), Hester Prynne in The Scarlet Letter, Phebe in As You Like It, Everyman in Everyman, and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. Favorite directing credits include The Pirates of Penzance , The Crucible, Endgame, Tartuffe, The Miser, Guys and Dolls, Mad Forest, Translations and The Bald Soprano. Most recently she directed Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle at The Attic Theatre in L.A., as well as Stage Door and The Boy Friend at Madeira. She is thrilled to be joining the Journeymen Theater artistic family and to be diving in to the theatre scene in D.C.
