Becky moved to D.C. in April 2004 and is excited to have found a city with such a growing theatre community and an artistic home with Journeymen. Although Georgia is where she calls home, D.C. is making a great impression on her life right now. Prior to moving here, Becky spent four seasons as an actor with Shenandoah Shakespeare(now American Shakespeare Center) where she toured, taught and was a member of the first resident company in the Blackfriars Playhouse. During those four years she had the pleasure of performing such roles as Hermione in Winters Tale, Portia in Julius Caesar, Helena in Midsummer Nights Dream, Regan in King Lear and Viola in Twelfth Night (which toured to the Folger Theater in 2001 and gave her a first taste of D.C.).
Becky received her BA in Theatre/Communications from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. She then spent a few years traveling the US and having the chance to work at various theatres including Cleveland Signstage and Warehouse Theatre where she was part of the Journeyman Program (although no connection - a very nice coincidence). Roles in the D.C. area have included Babanova/Stella Adler in Death of Meyerhold (Studio Theatre), Ensemble in Terrorism (Studio Theatre) and Emma Lazarus in From Haven to Home for the LOC. Roles for Journeymen Theater: Sheila in The Boys Next Door and Susannah/Ellen in the production of An Experiment with an Air Pump.
